Impaired driver charged and passanger arrested for drug possession

On Friday October 30, 2020, shortly after midnight, officers from the Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a call at a business on Monogram Place in Trenton. Two persons in a vehicle were reportedly being belligerent with staff members at a drive-through window.  Police investigation led to the arrest of the driver for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. Further investigation led the seizure of a quantity of suspected hydromorphone pills and the arrest of the vehicle passenger. 

A 30 year old of Quinte West has been charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Other Drugs  

A 28 year old of Quinte West has been charged with:

  •  Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Other Drugs
  • Obstruct Peace Officer
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order – Two Counts

The accused persons were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on November 19, 2020.
