COBOURG RESIDENT ARRESTED FOR SHOPLIFTING – COBOURG POLICE SERVICE

On Tuesday, November 17th, at 9:18 pm, officers responded to a shoplifting call at a Strathy Road business. A woman had been observed by Loss Prevention Officers selecting merchandise, concealing it, before exiting the store, making no attempts to pay for the items.

As a result of police investigation, 33-year-old Lindsey TURLAND of Cobourg was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  1. Theft Under $5000 – contrary to section 334(b) of the Criminal Code
  2. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 – contrary to section 355(b) of the Criminal Code
  3. Fail to Comply with Probation contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code

TURLAND was released on an appearance notice with a January court date.
