SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT IN EFFECT: Up-to 10 CM of snowfall expected

Special weather statement in effect for:

  • Belleville – Quinte West – Eastern Northumberland County
  • Cobourg – Colborne – Western Northumberland County

Significant snowfall expected Sunday into Monday morning.

Snow is expected to begin Sunday afternoon. Snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm are possible before transitioning to rain Sunday night. Brief freezing rain will be possible Sunday evening.

Travel is expected to be impacted due to moderate to heavy snow. Motorists should be prepared for winter weather driving conditions.

This is a result of a Colorado Low that will track from Ohio towards the St. Lawrence River Sunday into Monday.

There is still some uncertainty in model guidance as to the exact track of the low and the axis of heaviest snow. We will continue to monitor the situation and update Special Weather Statements as new data becomes available.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ONstorm@canada.ca or tweet reports using #ONStorm.
