Cobourg Police Service thanks the community for their generosity and assistance in helping others have a joyous holiday season.

COBOURG (November 25, 2020) – On Saturday, November 21, Cobourg Police Service Auxiliary members, Special Constable members and the Cobourg Police Chief volunteered their services to run Cram-A-Cruiser Food Drive. The event took place at No Frills and Walmart in Cobourg, and proceeds went to the Northumberland Fare Share Food Bank, and toy donations went to the Salvation Army. Donations collected from this event will help provide local families in need the ability to make this a joyous holiday season.

The results were inspiring, with 3,622 pounds of food donated, $3,944 collected for the Northumberland Fare Share Food Bank and 207 toys to the Salvation Army.

“This year’s CRAM-A-CRUISER event demonstrated that even a pandemic wouldn’t stop the generosity of people right here in Cobourg,” says Chief Paul VandeGraaf, Cobourg Police Service. “Thank you to the Cobourg Police ServicePS members who volunteered their time to make this event happen, thank you to the staff and volunteers at Fare Share Food Bank and the Salvation Army for the important work they do in our community. Finally, thank you to everyone for their generous donations – in these times, it is more important than ever that we support each other.”

The Cobourg Police Service would like to extend a heartfelt “thank you” to the community for the outpouring of generosity in support of the Northumberland Fare Share Food Bank and Salvation Army. Donations from the community directly impacts the lives of many citizens in our community.

There is still time to make a donation and help others enjoy the holidays.
