Port Hope business falls victim to Break and Enter

On December 9, at 4:00AM the Shop & Go Convenience store located on Peter St in Port Hope fell victim to a break and enter.

It was around 4:08 AM that Najib, the owner received a phone call from his alarm company to inform him that an alarm was going off in his store, he asked for Police to be dispatched.

Within moments, Port Hope Police Service were on scene, and located a broken glass door that led to a quiet store.

The suspects escaped, and are being sought by Port Hope Police. There images can be found below.

Najib told Northumberland County Breaking News Feed “it keeps me up at night to know that these people could be within our community” he wonders “what or who is next?”

Approximately $5000 in Tobacco, along with the stores POS system was stolen.

In a closing comment from Najib, he told us that he is grateful for the support he has received from the community, and for the quick response of the Port Hope Police Service.

No injuries were reported in this incident.

These suspects are also being sought in connection with a similar break and Enter at a business on Toronto Rd.

At approximately 5:30AM on December 11, Police were called to the ESSO gas station on Toronto Rd. The front glass door had been smashed in, around 4:00 AM, however Police we’re not called until around 5:30AM.
