Man and woman charged for intoxication in public place – Cobourg Police Service

On the evening of Friday, December 11, Cobourg Police Service uniform officers were dispatched to the Via Rail Station in Cobourg on a call regarding an aggressive passenger on the train.

As a result of police investigation, 40-year-old Adam Peckford of Barrie Ontario, was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Obstruct Peace Officer: Contrary to Section 129(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Escape from Lawful Custody: Contrary to Section 145(1)(a)
  • Being Intoxicated in a Public Place: Liquor Licence Act 31(4)

Further, 39-year-old Angela Deschamps of Barrie Ontario, was also arrested and charged with the following offences:

  1. Causing a Disturbance: Contrary to Section 175(1)(a()(i) Criminal Code of Canada
  2. Obstruct Peace Officer: Contrary to Section 129(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada
  3. Being Intoxicated in a Public Place: Liquor Licence Act 31(4)

Both accused were later released with a future court date.
