An Uxbridge male attended a hospital over the weekend suffering from a gunshot wound.
On Saturday, December 19, 2020 at approximately 8:55 p.m., a 19-year-old male from Uxbridge entered the local hospital in Uxbridge suffering from a gunshot wound. Police were called and investigators attended the scene and spoke with the victim.
Investigators ascertained that the victim invited the suspect, who was armed with a firearm, over to his residence. While the suspect was handling the prohibited firearm, there was a discharge which struck the victim. The victim suffered from a serious but non-life threatening injury.
Police contacted the friend and located him at a residence in the area of Reach Street and Concession Road 7 in Uxbridge, where he was arrested while still in possession of the firearm.
Keegan JENKINS-MILLAR, age 19, of Princess Street in Cobourg has been charged with: Assault with a Weapon; Careless Storage; Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose; Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm; Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Car; Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm or with Readily Accessible Ammunition; Tampering with Serial Number-Possessing a Firearm with a Defaced Serial Number; Using Firearm in the Commission of an Offence; Careless Use of a Firearm; and Pointing a Firearm. He was held for a bail hearing.
