Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding on Highway 115 at approximately 2:45am yesterday morning. The vehicle fled at a high rate of speed and exited the highway at Tapley ¼ Line. The vehicle was located by officers but the driver fled on foot. The driver was identified prior to fleeing and was arrested yesterday evening.

Terry Amos (age 34) of Cavan-Monaghan Township, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

·      Flight from peace officer

·      Dangerous operation

·      Race a motor vehicle-excessive speed

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on February 9, 2021.
