Fully involved tractor-trailer fire near Castleton PRE-ARRIVAL VIDEO

It has been a busy day for Cramahe Township first responders.

At approximately 5:45 PM this evening, Emergency Services were called to the area of CR-25 and Mount Pleasant Rd near Castleton for a fully involved Tractor Trailer Fire.

Crews had just left the scene of an earlier structure fire in the Colborne area, so response times were very fast. All crews were already in the trucks, and quick to respond to the scene.

Upon arrival, Fire Fighters determined that the truck was fully involved, and the fire had spread to the empty trailer. Thick, Black smoke could be seen and smelt in the nights sky.

Thankfully the driver was able to escape the fire without injury. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

A witness to the fire told Northumberland County Breaking News Feed, it happened very fast, and the driver was lucky to be able to escape without injury.

Mount Pleasant Road remains closed east of CR-25 for cleanup and investigation.
