THREE ARRESTED FOLLOWING A BREAK AND ENTER IN QUINTE WEST

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has made numerous arrests following a break and enter.

On January 16, 2021, at 10:50 a.m., Quinte West OPP responded to a report of a break-in at a restaurant on East Davis Street in Trenton. Police learned that at approximately 6:00 a.m. a person forced their way in through a window and stole various consumable items, as well as a cash box containing an undisclosed sum of money. The individual was observed entering a residence following the theft.

Quinte West OPP, with the assistance of the Quinte West Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), executed a search warrant at the residence and recovered the stolen property. CSCU further located property from two separate thefts that occurred the same night at a business on Old Highway 2 and a residence on County Road 2 in Quinte West. 

Shelby-Dawn STILWELL, 29 years old of no fixed address, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Theft under $5000 – Criminal Code Sec. 334(b)- three counts
  • Possession of property obtained by crime – Criminal Code Sec. 354(1)(a) – three counts; and
  • Possession of a schedule one substance – Methamphetamine – Sec. 4(1) Controlled Drugs and Substance Act

This accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on February 25, 2021

Eric WALLACE, 24 years old of Prince Edward County, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Theft under $5000 – Criminal Code Sec. 334(b)- three counts
  • Possession of property obtained by crime – Criminal Code Sec. 354(1)(a) – three counts; and
  • Possession of a schedule one substance – Methamphetamine – Sec. 4(1) Controlled Drugs and Substance Act; and
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon – Criminal Code Sec. 91(2) – two counts

Adam CONDER, 33 years old of Quinte West, has been charged with the following:

  • Theft under $5000 – Criminal Code Sec. 334(b)- three counts
  • Possession of property obtained by crime – Criminal Code Sec. 354(1)(a) – three counts; and
  • Possession of a schedule one substance – Methamphetamine – Sec. 4(1) Controlled Drugs and Substance Act
  • Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order – Sec. 117.01(1) Criminal Code; and
  • Fail to comply with a probation order – Sec.733.1(1) Criminal Code

These accused were held in custody until a scheduled bail hearing on January 19, 2021.

The investigation is continuing and additional arrests and charges are anticipated.
