DRIVER ARRESTED FOR IMPAIRED OPERATION AFTER CRASHING VEHICLE IN COBOURG

A man has been arrested for impaired operation after a motor vehicle collision on King Street East.

On Sunday, January 24, at 5:30 pm, police attended a single motor vehicle collision. A vehicle struck a guard rail and left the roadway, coming to rest in the front yard of a private residence.

As a result of the police investigation, 56-year-old Steven McCoy of Madoc was charged with the following offences:

  1. Impaired operation contrary to Section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada

2. Dangerous Driving contrary to Section 320.13(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused was released from custody on an Appearance Notice with a pending court date.
