The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges following a complaint of a possible impaired driver.
On January 28, 2021, at approximately 5:00 p.m., Quinte West OPP received a call of an intoxicated person at a business who had just left in a vehicle. Police located the driver and vehicle at a residence on Sidney Street, in Trenton. After officers observed signs of alcohol impairment, the accused was arrested and transported to the detachment for testing which showed blood alcohol limits well in excess of the legal limit.
Donald ST. JACQUES, 56 years old of Quinte West was charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
The accused was released from custody on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on February 11, 2021. Further, their licence was suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle was impounded for seven days.
