*UPDATE* Port Hope resident charged with stunt driving in Alderville First Nations

On Sunday February 7, 2021, at approximately 6:00 pm, an OPP Central Region Technical Collision Investigator while on route to a serious collision in the Municipality of Trent Hills, stopped a white Ford hatchback sedan after it was measured travelling 132km/hr in a posted 50 km/hr zone on County Road 45 near Minnetonka Road

A 21-year-old male from Port Hope, Ontario, has been charged with stunt driving. His G2 novice licence was suspended for seven days and the vehicle he was driving was towed and impounded. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on a date in April 2021.

Highway safety is a shared responsibility and the OPP would like to remind motorists to drive within posted speed limits, exercise patience and not allow themselves to be distracted while driving.
