Shortly after 6:20AM today emergency services were called to the intersection of CR-45 and Community Centre Rd for a two vehicle head-on collision.
A Honda SUV and a Chevy Sedan travelling in opposite directions collided in the intersection sending both vehicles to a west snow embankment of the road. Two people sustained minor injuries in the collision and were transported to a local hospital to be treated for their injuries.
It is unclear what caused the two vehicles to collide however road conditions were not ruled out. Hamilton Township Fire Department utilized the jaws-of-life to assist in accessing one of the patients, and the engine bay of the Chevy Sedan.
County Road 45 was restricted to one lane during the corse of the investigation. Drivers are reminded to be patient with road restrictions as emergency services work to treat patients and assess the scene. Our emergency services do an amazing job at what they do and deserve to go home at the end of their shifts.
The vehicles have since been removed, and all lanes of CR-45 have since re-opened.
