TWO PEOPLE SENT TO HOSPITAL FOLLOWING A TWO VEHICLE COLLISION IN ALNWICK/HALDIMAND TOWNSHIP

At approximately 4:20pm this afternoon a volunteer firefighter travelling on CR-45 discovered a two vehicle collision at the intersection of CR-22. Initial reports indicated that a third vehicle may have been involved however the third vehicle successfully swerved to avoid the collision.

Alnwick/Haldimand Fire Department responded to the scene along with Northumberland Paramedics and Northumberland OPP. Two people were transported from the scene to hospital with what appear to be minor injuries. A third person was checked out at the scene but declined medical treatment.

The collision happened after a vehicle left CR-22 to turn northbound on CR-45 striking a northbound vehicle on CR-45. CR-45 was restricted to one lane of travel during the investigation of the collision, however all lanes have since re-opened. At this time charges are believed to be pending.
