Shortly after 3:45pm this afternoon emergency services were called to the intersection of Percy St and Dudley Rd for a report of a pedestrian struck by a CMV (Commercial Motor Vehicle).
The CMV was making a turn left hand turn onto Dudley road after heading North on Percy St from the Town of Colborne when it struck a female with her two children that were crossing the road.
Cramahe Fire Department responded along with Northumberland Paramedics and Northumberland OPP. A witness says that the CMV was going approximately 15KM/HR at the time of the collision.
Two people were transported to hospital by Northumberland Paramedics. One female was transported with a serious lower leg injury after being struck by the CMV. A 6 month old that was in a baby carrier attached to the woman was also transported to hospital for observation. The other child that was with the woman was not injured in this incident.
We can expect that access to Dudley Rd will remain closed for the duration of the investigation. It is unknown if a member of the OPP trained as a TTCI will be responding to the scene to assist in the investigation.
We will have an update as more details become available.
