Quinte West OPP arrest male after they find brass knuckles during a routine traffic stop

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Trenton resident following a traffic stop.

On March 8, 2021, at approximately 10:00 a.m., Quinte West OPP conducted a routine traffic stop of a vehicle on County Road 40, south of Highway 401 in Quinte West. Upon approaching the vehicle, police observed a person sleeping in the back seat. While speaking with the individual, police observed a pair of brass knuckles inside the car. As a result, the person was arrested. 

Matthew ANAKONS, 41 years old of Quinte West was charged with unauthorized possession of a weapon.

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on April 15, 2021.
