Two people have been transported to hospital following a two vehicle collision in the intersection of CR-18 and Minnetonka Rd. Northumberland Paramedics along with Alnwick/Haldimand Fire Department and Northumberland OPP responded to the intersection where a pick-up truck had been t-boned by another.

Two people have been transported to hospital with what appear to be Minor injuries by Northumberland Paramedics. County Rd 18 was closed for a short time while paramedics treated two patients and OPP and Fire ensured scene safety and conducted an investigation.

A nearby resident told us “It was only a matter of time before this happened” saying that he has gone to the county to have something done about the speed on this road with no sucess. It is not known that speed was a factor in this collision as the witness stated that the white pickup truck heading eastbound on CR-18 was going a “decent” speed for the road.

The cause of the collision has yet to be determined however preliminary details point to one of the trucks running a stop sign. The roadway is expected to re-open within the next 20 minutes.
