It was shortly before 1AM this morning that an officer with the OPP attempted to stop a vehicle on CR14 just west of HWY 62, Northwest of Belleville. The suspects vehicle became involved in a MVC with the OPP cruiser.

Residents of the Foxboro area, northwest of Belleville, are being advised to shelter in place and to keep doors locked. A large police presence is in the area, searching for an individual, considered to be dangerous.

A/OPP Media Relations Manager Bill Dickson says that the officer left his vehicle when he was stabbed in a serious assault. He is being treated in hospital for his injuries which are considered serious.

The wanted individual left the scene on foot.

At this time Charles “Chuck” PARKINSON is sought on attempted murder charges.

PARKINSON was last seen wearing grey sweatpants, a black sweater, and a black hat with a red logo on it.

  • Last seen in grey sweats, black sweater, black hat with red logo
