ONE PERSON SENT TO HOSPITAL FOLLOWING A HEAD ON COLLISION IN PORT HOPE

At 2:00pm this afternoon emergency services were called to the intersection on Rose Glen Rd and Phillips Rd for a head on collision. Two sedans collided in the intersection at the entrance to the 401.

Northumberland Paramedics assessed and transported one person to hospital for minor injuries sustained in the collision.

It appears that a vehicle turning into the entrance to the 401 struck a vehicle travelling through the intersection on Rose Glen Rd.

Port Hope Police directed traffic around the collision for a short time while tows hooked up the vehicles to re-open the intersection completely.

Moments ago, emergency services cleared the scene and the intersection was reopened for traffic. No word on any charges.
