
Investigation begins after an early morning structure fire at a church in Wesleyville
On Saturday April 3, 2021, at approximately 5:40 am, the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a reported fire at the Old Wesleyville United Church located on Lakeshore Road approximately 10 kilometers west of the town of Port Hope.
The Municipality of Port Hope Fire Department were at the location to quickly extinguish the blaze that has significantly damaged the interior of the structure near the entrance.
The Office of the Fire Marshal has been contacted and will be attending to investigate.
The scene is currently being held by the OPP as the circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation.
