Northumberland OPP warning after female was approached in Hamilton Township

The Major Crime Unit of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently investigating an assault that occurred in Hamilton Township on April 3, 2021.

At approximately 12:30 pm a female was approached by a male driving a newer model sky blue coloured four door hatch back sedan who asked her for directions. The female was  pulled into the vehicle but later managed to escape and flee from the male.

The suspect is described as a white male approximately 40 -50 years of age with dark brown hair, wearing a grey toque, burgundy bandana, a mask, grey sweat pants with stains, and a black hoodie with a totem pole design on it. The male was also observed to be wearing socks with no shoes and is believed to be a heavy smoker.

Members of the public are reminded to be vigilant and aware of their surroundings at all times. If you observe anyone acting suspiciously or someone approaches you, always keep your distance and call police.
