Peterborough OPP – TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO MULTIPLE CHARGES, ILLICIT DRUGS AND PROHIBITED WEAPON LOCATED IN VEHICLE

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle for speeding on Highway 7 at approximately 7:00pm yesterday evening. The driver was found to be suspended. Illicit drugs and a prohibited weapon (butterfly knife) were located during a search of the vehicle. 

Judaah MCALPINE of Carlow-Mayo Township, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

• Possession of a Schedule I substance-methamphetamine

• Possession of a Schedule I substance-ecstasy

• Possession of over 30g of dried cannabis in a public place

• Possession of prohibited device or ammunition for dangerous purpose

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on May 12, 2021.

The 20 year old driver from Bancroft, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

• Driving while under suspension

• Speeding

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on June 7, 2021
