Two people have been sent to hospital in serious condition after a single vehicle collision on the 5th Line in Port Hope.
Around 12:45am this morning, the Northumberland OPP received a report of a single vehicle collision on the 5th Line between Barrie and Grist Mill roads. Northumberland Paramedics along with Port Hope Fire and Emergency Services also responded to the call.
A vehicle traveling eastbound on the 5th Line appears to have left the roadway, struck a tree and rolled over. The two occupants in the vehicle were ejected from the vehicle at the time of the collision.
Both occupants were transported to Northumberland Hills Hospital after receiving treatment on scene by Emergency Services. One person was later transported to a Toronto area trauma center via Ornge Air Ambulance Service to be treated for injuries.
The 5th Line is and will remain closed for several hours between Barrie Rd and Grist Mill Rd as members of the Ontario Provincial Police trained in collision reconstruction and investigation process the scene who will arrive later this morning, please consider using an alternate route at this time.
