Cobourg Police – Man charged after police respond to a call downtown Cobourg

On Thursday, May 20, 2021, police were dispatched to an address downtown Cobourg.
The complainant advised police that the accused was in breach of their release conditions.

As a result of police investigation, the accused was charged with the following offences:

  1. Breach of Recognizance to Keep the Peace contrary to section 811 of the Criminal Code of Canada
  2. Having Liquor in an Open Container in other than a Licensed Premises, Residence or Private Place – contrary to section 32(1) of the Liquor License Act
  3. The accused was released on an undertaking and summons with a future court date.
  4. The accused’s name will not be released to protect the identity of the victim.
