The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges after responding to a call involving an alleged firearm.
On May 19, 2021, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Quinte West OPP responded to Scott Street in Trenton after a witness phoned 911 to report they saw someone point a handgun at another person. Multiple officers responded to a Scott Street residence where two people were arrested and a firearm was located. One person was released unconditionally and the firearm was confirmed to be a replica “Airsoft” handgun. Following a search of the accused, multiple suspected Percocet pills were seized.
Frederick TAYLOR, 31 years old of Quinte West has been charged with the following offences:
- Pointing a firearm
- Assault with a weapon
- Possession of a schedule I substance – Oxycodone; and
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
The accused was released from custody on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on June 24, 2021.
