During the Regular Council Meeting on Monday, May 17, 2021, Council approved the Summer Pop-Up Restaurant Program to support local restaurants, pubs and charitable organizations this summer.
The Summer Pop-Up Restaurant Program will help support local businesses and community organizations by providing new or additional outdoor event space that can be operated safely within provincial and municipal government regulations in place during the COVID-19 pandemic. This program is available to all Town of Cobourg restaurants and pubs as well as charitable organizations and service clubs that serve Northumberland County.
Through the Summer Pop-Up Restaurant Program, local restaurants and organizations will be able to book one of two locations for a 4-day weekend slot (Thursday to Sunday) beginning Thursday, June 17, 2021 through until the end of September 2021. The two locations that will be available this summer include the fenced and paved area to the west of the Victoria Park Canteen, and the grass area in front of the Cobourg Yacht Club. Both locations can be licensed for the sale of liquor, however this will need to be addressed in the application process.
How to Apply
Event Permit applications will be required from any restaurant or service club and must include:
