Cobourg Police arrest a man after a disturbance in Cobourg

On Saturday, May 22, 2021, the Cobourg Police Service attended an address on King Street West for a report of a man causing a disturbance.

As a result of police investigation, Charlie Butler, a 36-year-old man from the Town of Cobourg, was arrested.

During the arrest, police located a small quantity of Methamphetamine and stolen property in his possession.

Butler was charged with:

  1. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 – Contrary to Section 355(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada
  2. Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine – contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act

Charlie Butler was released from custody on an Undertaking with a future court date.
