On May 23, 2021, police were called to a residence for a report of an assault in progress. Police attended and spoke with occupants, and began an investigation.
As a result, Charlie Butler, a 36-year-old man from the Town of Cobourg, was charged with the following offence:
- Assault contrary to section 266 Criminal Code of Canada
The accused was released on an undertaking with a future court date
