COMMUNITY: Port Hope Business Olympus Burger donates $2544.00 to Wesleyville Village after devastating fire destroys historic church

Every year on National Burger Day, local business Olympus Burger donates proceeds from the days sales to a local charity or non-profit. In past years Olympus Burger has supported Rebound, Food Banks, and Firefighters museum to name a few.

Part owner Giorgos told Northumberland County Breaking News Feed that this year the business wanted to give back to the immediate community. A decision was made that this years proceeds would support the Wesleyville Village after a fire significantly damaged the Old Wesleyville United Church.

On April 3, 2021 Port Hope Fire and Emergency Services along with Northumberland OPP and Northumberland Paramedics responded to the Old Wesleyville United Church located on Lakeshore Road approximately 10 kilometers west of the town of Port Hope for a structure fire.

The blaze “significantly damaged the interior of the structure near the entrance” said the Northumberland OPP.

Giorgos explained that the outpouring support from the community was amazing. Many orders were placed, paid for, with extra in-house donations made. An amazing $2544 was donated for the repair of the Old Wesleyville United Church.

The fight however has still not been won. The friends of Wesleyville Village still need our help. With further mountains to climb any donations are appreciated! To donate, CLICK HERE. Alternatively, you can visit http://www.wesleyvillevillage.com to learn more on how you can help.
