A man in his 30’s has been transported to hospital with what are believed to be minor injuries after the transport truck he was driving rolled over. It all happened on the 401 in the westbound lanes just west of Burnham St, Cobourg.

It was shortly before 7:00PM tonight that emergency crews were called to the highway near Cobourg for a tractor trailer that had rolled over. The truck was hauling wine at the time of the collision.

Reports from the scene indicated that a transport truck travelling in the westbound lanes left the roadway and entered the ditch taking out a highway sign. After overcorrecting the truck entered the roadway rolling over on its passenger side. Fuel could be seen leaking from the truck with wine spilling out of the cargo container.

The highway is and will remain closed for some time while tows work to upright the vehicle and clean the wreckage left behind.
