TRAFFIC COMPLAINT TAKES ANOTHER IMPAIRED DRIVER OFF THE ROAD

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint regarding a possible impaired driver on Chemong Road at approximately 6:45pm yesterday evening. The vehicle was located and the driver was found to be under the influence of drugs. The passenger was found to be in possession of fentanyl.

Kimberly ROGERS (age 30) of the Municipality of Trent Lakes, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

• Operation while impaired-alcohol and drugs

• Dangerous operation

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on July 8, 2021.

Colin HAY (age 36) of the Municipality of Trent Lakes, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

• Possession of a Schedule I substance-other drugs

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on July 14, 2021.

The Peterborough County OPP reminds motorists to plan ahead when consuming drugs. Use a designated driver, cab, public transit, or stay overnight. Any amount of alcohol or drugs can impact your ability to make sound judgements.
