TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO DRUG CHARGES – ILLICIT DRUGS LOCATED

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint regarding a possible impaired driver on Television Road at approximately 7:30am on June 10, 2021. The vehicle was located in the parking lot of a gas station on Television Road and the driver was found to be under the influence of drugs. 25 grams of methamphetamine, 29 grams of fentanyl, counterfeit Canadian currency, scales and cell phones were located during a search of the vehicle. The driver and passengers are facing numerous charges.

Shayne NEUMAN (age 43) of Bancroft, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

• Operation while impaired-alcohol and drugs

• Dangerous operation

• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-methamphetamine

• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-other drugs

• Fail to comply with Probation Order

• Fail to comply with undertaking

• Possessing counterfeit money-have in custody

The accused appeared in the Ontario Court of Justice for a bail hearing on June 10, 2021. 

Lawrence O’BRIEN (age 32) of Carlow-Mayo Township, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

• Fail to comply with Probation Order-two counts

• Possession of a Schedule I substance-other drugs

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on July 14, 2021

Emily WOODCOCK (age 22) of Marmora and Lake, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

• Obstruct peace officer

• Fail to comply with Probation Order

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on July 22, 2021
