Thompson Bridge is a single lane, single span pony truss with a wooden deck constructed in 1922 with a load restriction of 10 tonnes. Thompson Bridge is located on Skinkle Road, approximately 1.55km north of County Road 29 in the Municipality of Trent Hills.

As a result of a recent inspection, Thompson Bridge was found to be in need of urgent repairs.

Deterioration of critical members require repair as soon as possible.

The repairs are tentatively scheduled to commence on July 12th, 2021 and are anticipated to be completed by July 26th, 2021. To facilitate the repairs, the bridge will be closed for the duration of construction. Local traffic will be required to utilize a signed detour route that will be installed utilizing CR29, Percy Street, Godolphin Road, Greenly Road, and Concession Road 6 East during construction.

Upon completion of the repairs, the load restriction on the bridge will be reduced to 5 tonnes.
