Port Hopes West Beach added to the list of unsafe to swim at due to high levels of e. Coli

Following a recent water test done by the the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit, Pot Hopes West Beach has been added to list of closed and unsafe beaches in Northumberland County.

The Municipality of Port Hope was advised by the local health unit to close the West Beach for swimming due to an increased level of E. coli bacteria in the water.

This comes just days after Cobourg Victoria Beach was closed for the same reason.

West Beach remains open for walking and hiking, etc.
