Stolen vehicle drives to OPP detachment following traffic complaint – you have to read it to believe it

On July 14th, 2021 at approximately 9:30 p.m. a motorist was travelling westbound on Highway #401 in Loyalist Township, Ontario when they contacted police via 911 to report that they were being followed by another vehicle and felt unsafe.

The complainant drove to the L&A County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment in Greater Napanee and the suspect vehicle did, in fact, follow the complainant from the highway and all the way to the OPP detachment parking lot where officers met with both parties.

During the course of the investigation into the incident, officers determined that the suspect vehicle had, in fact, been reported stolen from the GTA in June.

Ramanpreet SINGH, age 27, of Vaughan, was arrested and has been charged with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on September 7, 2021.
