PORT HOPE POLICE ARREST TWO TEENS FOR RESIST ARREST AFTER CAUSING A DISTURBANCE

Port Hope Police have arrested a pair of 18 year-olds after a disturbance at a Port Hope Beach. 

Police say they were called to a Port Hope beach on July 17, 2021 at 12:32AM for a report of two people causing a disturbance. 

Police arrived on scene and found a male and female and asked them to leave the area and go home. They both refused and as a result were arrested. 

John DaSilva, age 18 of Port Hope was arrested and charged with causing a disturbance and resisting arrest. 

Elizabeth Harvey, age 18 of Port Hope was charged with resisting arrest and assaulting a peace officer.

They were both asked multiple times to leave the area and return home but refused. During the arrest the female kicked the arresting officer. 

Both parties were released on an undertaking with conditions not to communicate directly or indirectly with each other.
