PORT HOPE FIRE ON SCENE FOR A TRAIN FIRE

It was just before 5:45PM today that emergency services were called to the area of Hope St S and Dorset St E for a working fire within two to three railway cars.

Port Hope Fire and Emergency Services responded from all three stations within the municipality. First arriving crews were met with heavy smoke coming from fully involved railway cars that were full of old railway ties.

This is still very much an active scene with road closures in the area. At this time the fire has been deemed as under control.

Port Hope Police, Canadian Pacific Police and Port Hope Fire and Emergency Services remain on scene.
