Early morning on Friday, September 10, 2021, police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on University Avenue in the Town of Cobourg. An eastbound vehicle left the roadway, struck a fence and a tree coming to rest on its side in the westbound lane.
The driver, the sole occupant, was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The Cobourg Police Service Forensic Identification Services attended the scene.
As a result of the investigation, 33-year-old Stephen Finnemore of Cobourg was charged with the following offences:
1. Impaired operation contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada
2. Dangerous Driving contrary to section 320.13(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada
Finnemore was released with a future court date.
