Impaired driver taken off the road in Peterborough County with the assistance of DRPS

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint regarding a possible impaired driver on Highway 28 at approximately 8:00pm yesterday evening. Detectives from the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) were in the area and stopped the vehicle after it was observed to be driving erratically. The driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol.

Savannah WILSON (age 22) of Milton, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

• Operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration-80 plus

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for 7 days. 

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on November 3, 2021.

The Peterborough County OPP reminds motorists to plan ahead when consuming alcohol. Use a designated driver, cab, public transit, or stay overnight. Any amount of alcohol or drugs can impact your ability to make sound judgements.
