INJURIES NOW CONSIDERED LIFE THREATENING AFTER PEDESTRIAN STRUCK ON COUNTY RD. 28

Members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency crews responded to a collision on County Road 28 that occurred at approximately 4:40am yesterday morning.

A vehicle travelling on County Road 28 collided with a pedestrian. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. The pedestrian was later transported to a Toronto area hospital with what are considered life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported in the collision.

County Road 28 was closed between County Road 9 and Rice Lake Drive North while OPP members trained in collision reconstruction measured and documented the scene.

This collision remains under investigation. Anyone witnesses or anyone that has video/dash camera footage of the collision or of the area near the time of the collision (October 5, 2021 at approximately 4:40am) is asked to contact the Northumberland OPP Detachment at 905-372-5421 or 1-888-310-1122.
