Cobourg Police – Woman arrested on warrant after police conduct traffic stop

On Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at approximately 2:00 p.m., police on general patrol conducted a traffic stop in the downtown area of Cobourg.

Police investigation revealed that two occupants of the vehicle were wanted on outstanding warrants. The driver was wanted on two outstanding warrants with the Durham Regional Police Service, and the passenger was wanted on two outstanding warrants with the Cobourg Police Service.

As a result, the two occupants were arrested on the strength of the warrants.

The driver was transported to Durham Regional Police Service.

Grace Edwards, 23 years old from Cobourg, was charged with the following offences:

  1. Fail to Attend Court – contrary to section 145(2)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada
  2. Transportation Fraud – contrary to section 393(3) of the Criminal Code of Canada
  3. Use Credit Card Data – contrary to section 342(3) of the Criminal Code of Canada
  4. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – contrary to section 355(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada

Edwards was held for a bail hearing.
