QUINTE WEST OPP – TWO CHARGED AFTER POLICE LOCATE SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE IN CEMETERY

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges against two individuals following increased patrols of local cemeteries.

On November 10, 2021, at approximately 11:55 p.m., Quinte West OPP were conducting a patrol of a cemetery on Byrne Avenue in Quinte West when officers observed an SUV parked with its lights off. Officers checked on the vehicle and located two people sitting inside. Police determined both occupants were in breach of release conditions and a quantity of suspected methamphetamine along with drug paraphernalia was seized.

Brian BROWN, 43 years old of Quinte west has been charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine; and
  • Fail to comply with a probation order

Suzanne WITKOWSKI, 56 years old of Quinte West has been charged with the following offences:

  • Fail to comply with undertaking – two counts; and
  • Possession of a schedule I substance – methamphetamine

Both accused were released from custody with undertakings and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on December 6, 2021.
