QUINTE WEST OPP – PERSON CHARGED FOLLOWING FOOT PURSUIT IN TRENTON

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual following a foot pursuit in Trenton.

On November 30, 2021 at approximately 8:15.m.., Quinte West OPP responded to the area Of Sidney Street and North Murray Street in Trenton after receiving information that a wanted male was in the area. An officer with the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) attended and spotted the individual attempting to gain access to an apartment building on North Murray Street. After observing the officer, the male fled on foot. The officer apprehended the male a short distance away where he was arrested on three outstanding warrants. 

Clifford ARCHER, 31 years old of Quinte West has been charged with the following offences:

  • Failure to comply with undertaking – Three counts;
  • Dangerous operation (of a motor vehicle);
  • Flight from peace officer;
  • Theft of motor vehicle;
  • Mischief under $5000; and
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm  

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear for bail at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on November 30, 2021
