Quinte West OPP – CHARGES LAID AS A RESULT OF DRUG TRAFFICKING INVESTIGATION

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual following a drug trafficking investigation in Trenton.

On December 8, 2021, at approximately 3:15 p.m., members the Quinte West OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) and the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) conducted a traffic stop on Dundas Street West of a vehicle related to a drug investigation. The driver was arrested, and a search of the vehicle led to the seizure of a quantity of suspected Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD) as well as a quantity of methamphetamine with an approximate street value of $20000. 

Winston CLARKE, 37 years old from Toronto has been charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine;
  • Possession of a schedule III substance for the purpose of trafficking – LSD; and
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear for bail at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on December 9, 2021.
