Deceased identified in fatal workplace accident: Peterborough OPP

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have identified the victim of a fatal worksite accident in the Municipality of Trent Lakes.

On May 10, 2022, shortly after 6:45 a.m., the Peterborough County OPP responded to a report of two unresponsive victims at an aggregate quarry on Bass Lane. The initial investigation revealed that the victims had been trapped between two vehicles. One victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. The second victim was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries prior to being flown to a Toronto area hospital via air ambulance.

The deceased has been identified as Dustin AUBREY, age 20, of North Kawartha Township.

The Ontario Ministry of Labour (MOL) is investigating the cause of the accident with assistance from the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario.
