
Port Hope shocked after human remains located Thursday afternoon – the investigation continues
It was around 3:00PM Thursday afternoon when human remains were located in the Municipality of Port Hope.
A wooded area between Jocelyn St and Barrett St spanning east to Caroline St and West to the bank of the Ganaraska River is cordoned off by police tape as the investigation takes place.

Northumberland County Breaking News Feed was able to confirm with Port Hope Police Service Inspector Katie Andrews that the remains are those of a female.
Members of the Port Hope Police Service and the Ontario Provincial Police Criminal Investigations Branch and Forensic Identification Service along with the Office of the Chief Coroner attended the scene Thursday Evening.

At this time the identity of the deceased is unknown.
The remains will be transported to the Coroners Office in Kingston where the investigation into a cause of death will take place.

The scene is expected to remain in a hold and secure pattern as investigators continue to determine the circumstances surrounding how the remains got there and the who(s) involved.
