Two separate foot pursuits end in two arrests by OPP in Trenton

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested two people following two separate foot pursuits in Trenton.

On June 24, 2022 at approximately 8:30 a.m., Quinte West OPP officers observed two people on John Street who were wanted on outstanding arrest warrants. Officers attempted to make verbal contact both individuals however they took off running from police. OPP Canine and the OPP Emergency Response Team were immediately called in to assist. Following a successful canine track, one of the individuals was arrested after they were found hiding in a backyard. The other individual was not located at the time of this writing. 

Adam SQUIRES, 47 years old male from Trenton has been charged with the following offences:

  • Fail to comply with probation order – two counts
  • Mischief – destroy or damage property
  • Assault; and
  • Uttering threats

The accused appeared for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on June 24, 2022.

At approximately 12:30 p.m., officers observed an individual riding a bicycle on Campbell Street in Trenton who was wanted on an outstanding bench warrant. Police attempted to stop them however they fled from the officers. Following a short foot pursuit, a 41 year old male from Quinte West was arrested in the back yard of a property on Nelles Avenue. 

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear for bail on June 25, 2022.
