She told Northumberland County Breaking News Feed that she tried to use her garden hose to protect her home and property before becoming overwhelmed with heat. She left her home and waited for the fire department to arrive.

The newly purchased home is a complete loss and the cause of the fire is presently unknown. Exterior damage was inflicted on neighboring homes, however fire crews were able to contain the blaze before it spread.
