Driver transported to hospital following single vehicle collision involving a deer in Hamilton Township

A female was transported to hospital with minor injures following a single vehicle collision on Oak Ridges Dr in Hamilton Township earlier this evening.

It was around 8:00 p.m., this evening when members of the Northumberland OPP, paramedics, and the Hamilton Township Fire Department were called to the area of Oak Hills Rd., and Oak Ridges Dr in Hamilton Township for a report of a single vehicle that struck a deer.

OPP say the pick-up truck was travelling westbound on Oak Ridges Dr when the collision occurred. The impact sent the pick-up across the road and into the eastbound guardrail which stopped the vehicle from entering the embankment. The vehicle sustained heavy front-end damage as a result of the collision.

OPP told Northumberland County Breaking News Feed that the driver sustained only minor injuries and was transported to hospital by Northumberland Paramedics as a precaution.
